I grew up in a small town and the railroad went right through the town. It seems we were always crossing the tracks somewhere. The sound of the train a part of life. I can’t remember exactly when it was left to rest and rust in peace. Your poem and picture brought back a mixture of memories. Melancholy/Pleasant. 😦 🙂
Thanks for the comment. I always think it’s sad to see when things are left and neglected. Railways have always held a fascination for me. The rail line in the photo is run by volunteers, who renovate old trains and rolling stock. So there is a happy ending! 🙂
